Salers Gin Aged in Oak Barrels

A limited edition of the Aged Salers Gin. Inspired by the know-how of traditional aperitifs, the SALERS distillery used barrels that had contained walnut husks to age the gin in oak barrels for 6 months.

Salers Gin, when aged in oak barrels, develops a complex flavor profile with notes of spice, vanilla, and toasted oak, complementing the gin's existing botanical character. Expect a richer, smoother taste with hints of caramel and potentially even a subtle smokiness, all while still retaining the gin's signature juniper and citrus notes.

Tasting note
Nose: The oak aging introduces pronounced notes of vanilla and caramel, often with a toasted or nutty aroma. Juniper and citrus notes from the original gin are still present, but may be mellowed and integrated with the oak influence.
Palate:The taste is rich and complex, with vanilla and caramel notes from the oak, often accompanied by a spicy warmth from the wood. Juniper and other botanicals, like coriander or cardamom, can be noticeable, but may be softened and complemented by the oak's influence.
Finish: The finish is typically long and warming, with lingering notes of oak spice and potentially a subtle hint of smoke. The juniper and other botanicals may still be present, but the overall impression is one of smoothness and complexity.
