Negronis are a widely popular cocktail all over the world, as it consists of Gin, Campari and Vermouth. Campari and sweet Vermouth are very popular liquors in Italy as they were used for medicinal purposes. Both of these liquors are unique in flavour and quite bitter on its own. However, when mixed with the Gin together it cuts through the Campari and Vermouth and creates a heavenly cocktail. This gin earned a silver award in the Gin category of contemporary styles at the International wine and spirits 2017 competition.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Familiar botanicals notes mixed with equally familiar dark fruit sweetness. A hint of ginger and rhubarb.
Palate: Rather festive at first, with a cinnamon and orange. Hints of fennel and damson begin to take shape on the mid-palate.
Finish: Suitably dry on the back of the palate, with peppermint and black liquorice on the finish.
